Bought it for my sons (10 and 12). A little heavy for kids who aren't too big. The younger struggled to cock it, but figured it out. The prop it on a table. But solidly built, with a usable scope. The gun fires accurately. Also, it is simply beautiful to look at. Hope it holds up. Nice buy!

Accurate
A little heavy and tuff to cock but very accurate. The scope mounting was easy & it was only about 10 shots before even my wife was hitting the bull. The cocking will become easier as i get the hang of it. The woodpeckers & squirrels better find a new place to hang out....

Umarex Forge
What a nice gun. I wish I would have had this as a teenager. Smooth 30 lbs. On the cocking effort. I tried my friends Gamo Swarm Magnum and that thing has a 50 lbs cocking. Too much. The weight of the Forge is perfect. Accuracy is awesome. Took about 5 shots to make the silencer kick in. Before that it was as loud as a 22 rimfire. Had to remove the rear sight to get my super big scope on. But this gun is the real deal. Couldn't ask for a better air rifle. My only concerns are the plastic rear sight and plastic trigger. For the money it should have been metal. The top rail is super hard plastic also. But holds up well to the scope. I locktite all screws before use with red locktite. All guns get this process. Love the rifle though. Might upgrade to a PCP rifle in the future.

Classy
While it truly is classy, sexy even, let's talk about dependability and functions. Haven't yet been able to fine tune the scope i can hit 4in pan off-hand while standing at 35yrds. While on the bench rest can pop 2in plinker consistently from 25yrds. The Forge oozes quality. If you find any other positive review about this beauty you can rest assured they mean every word. Seriously, can't think of anything bad to say. You won't be disappointed.

Shooting for about a month
I have been pleased with the gun overall. I wanted a gas piston break barrel that was mid priced and has a good platform to hold the scope. I'm using it for plinking and it's performing nicely. There was some break in process with deiseling.velocity seems good. Accuracy is good at 20 yards. Scope is decent. I've been using crosman 10 grain dome pellets and it seems to like them alright. I'm getting used to the predictable trigger. If I could move the T06 from the rws 34 I think I would have the ultimate pellet plinker. I like the stock and overall appearance of the gun. I don't know if the moderator makes any difference. It's not too loud. I recommend this gun. It's not so fancy that you don't want to use it. this is my first gas spring gun. The shot cycle is legit much less chaos than my spring guns. It's an enjoyable pellet gun.

My new plinker
I bought the surge because I want a decent accurate gun for plinking. It's well made but not too fancy. The design is pleasant as is the shot cycle. I'm learning to use the consistent breakpoint of the trigger. If you want a breakbarel gun that will give consistent performance for a decent price the Surge fits the bill. Currently I'm shooting 10.5 grain crosman pellets. When new the gun broke the sound barrier with light pellets. It's settled down at this point. It has an experience that makes me feel comfortable with it and keep shooting for some time.
