I’ve owned many springer guns from different manufacturers with moderate success. Either they were too powerful and not at all accurate or too weak for small game and marginally accurate. It was always hard to find a good balance between them. I picked up this rifle as one last resort before throwing down the big bucks on a PCP gun. Out of the box it dieseled heavily for a few shots and then settled down. I cleaned the manufacturing oil from the bore with Hoppes #9 and securely mounted the included scope with loctite and torqued it to spec. Within 30 shots I was hitting quarter size targets at 25y. Within 100 shots I was hitting dime sized targets at the same range (all from a rest and bag.) After 200~ shots it stopped dieseling altogether and really got enjoyable to shoot. It definitely prefers the heavier pellets, with the crosman premier heavy magnums (10.4gr) being the best so far. They chrony between 940-980fps 6ft from the muzzle which generates somewhere in the ballpark of 20-27fpe for a .177! The only negatives: 1. The gun is heavy. Very heavy at just over 9lbs. My heaviest deer rifle weighs less. I feel it helps to absorb some of the recoil and forward jump of the piston along with the StopShox so it’s not a total bad thing. 2. Its loud. With any standard 7.4gr~ pellet you’ll break the sound barrier and it’ll sound like a .22 Rimfire with a velocity of 1250fps~. With the heavy 10.4gr the piston still rates a 87-91 decibel reading at 10 yards which is about in-line with a .22 short.
