I have a first gen Octane in .177. It worked so well I just had to buy another. I found an Octane Elite on sale on another site, plus I received a Birthday discount, so this was very affordable. I have wanted a .22 ever since I bought the .177. I have had this for about 2 weeks, and after the initial cleaning of the barrel before a single pellet went down range. I began with the open sights and at 11 yards I'm getting dime sized groups with many pellets going through the same hole! The stock scope is a good one but I wanted a bigger scope so I put a UTG Varmint scope with a 50mm objective on the rifle. I could not be happier! So far about 100 pellets through the rifle. Still in the break in period so I still get a rare flyer but it is settling down now. I feel this will shoot as well as my .177 which will shoot sub Quarter size groups @ 25 yards, and probably smaller if I was a little better shot. Little pests don't stand a chance!

Real powerhouse
Handles well, accurate, only improvements I can think of A- get a decent trigger, anything over 3 lb pull is totally excessive. being used to competition trigger pull of less than a pound and most hunting rifles with about a 3 lb pull. B- Safety is very awkward and inconvenient in location and operation.
Would still recommend as a top selection for casual shooting.

This Air Gun is The Shit! I Love It!
I have the .177 and it is beautifully made. It feels so good in my hands. You can't beat the accuracy and power it gives you. I'm ex-Army, with expert marksmanship badge. I have the 3-9X40 scope, but after zeroing it, i never put the scope on. I was hitting everything i aimed for. One pellet, one kill. That feed my ego so much. I'm of the mind now, "I'm so good I don't need a scope". I still have my scope though, just in case the day comes when i am not so good. This one is worth the price. I'm so happy with it, want to buy another Umarex Air Gun. Got my eye on the Thompson Sub-machine gun replica, "Legends M1A1". Might be fun to shred up some paper.

IGUANA CONTROL
My neighbor has several iguanas in her attic, some of them very large (4' w/tail). They've been wreaking havoc in her yard, and mine, for over a year. Traps haven't worked, poison is illegal, so I did my research and called Umarex. The sales agent was very helpful, and pointed me towards this breakbarrel rifle that fit my budget. It took a couple hours of testing before I got the scope aligned to consistently hit my target. This morning, on day two of the hunt, I bagged my first iguana, a clean shot through the heart from 20 yards in windy conditions. I'm now confident I can finish the job. The rifle is a bit heavy, and not real easy to load the breakbarrel, but it's solid and accurate. I highly recommend this rifle for small game, especially iguanas!

22cal
Great gun overall. The only thing I wish is that it had a lighter trigger pull. Seems to be accurate right from the start.
